Our location in West London means that we’re close to Europe’s largest immigration removal centres, near Heathrow airport. The two centres, known as Harmondworth and Colnbrook, house several hundred asylum seekers and refugees in crowded, prison-like conditions while they appeal in the courts for a chance at freedom and safety in Britain. Many of these (mostly) young men are alone and have no one visiting them during their detention, which can last months or even years.

One of the ways we try to give back to the local parish is to lead or support prayer services. We aim to do these at least twice a year. In past years, we’ve led the Stations of the Cross services.

We’ve been considering what to do this year, so we’re always open to suggestions. Please contact us and let us know what kind of prayer services you are interested in.

Our group has spawned a couple of related groups of young people. We do events with our local Mini Vinnies, such as cake sales, to raise money or provide activities for our older parishioners and neighbours, such as those in care homes.

We also have our own associated B-Attitude group. The members are older teenagers (14-18) enthusiastic about getting involved in our community. Many of these help us out every week at the food bank, for example.
