World Refugee Day

Next Thursday, June 20, is the UN World Refugee Day. As you know, working for social justice is at the heart of the SVP's mission. When we hear of, or see, acts of injustice, no matter where in the world, it affects us deep inside, almost personally. This is because the act is done against our sister or brother and so it is no wonder why we feel it so much.

Please set a few moments aside on Thursday to empathise with our brother and sister refugees. It could be any one of us, given different circumstances. And then, with the election coming up, why not inform yourself on where the various candidates stand on this issue. You will then be in a great position to use your gifts of Knowledge, Wisdom, Courage and Understanding in the polling booth.
