A little while back we met a lovely lady in church, Geraldine, who spoke to us about the work of the Comboni Missionaries in Sudan. They have set up a university course in Khartoum to train new nurses. Geraldine told us about the good work that its graduates are doing in that country.
The SVP has decided to help raise funds for this cause by hosting a cream tea afternoon on Saturday, July 30, from 3pm to 5pm. Come and join us for a cup of tea or coffee, homemade scones with jam and cream and a little something for the children too. We will hold a raffle to raise additional funds. All proceeds will go to the Comboni Nurses.

The SVP, along with our younger members in the B-Attitudes, will be doing a bucket and food collection at Waitrose in Ruislip this weekend. The bucket collection will raise funds for the SVP, which supports our food bank. Any food collected will be used to stock up the food bank cupboard.
If you are shopping at Waitrose this weekend please stop by our table and have a chat. It will be lovely to see a familiar face!

The SVP shop, Gifted, will be open after all masses this weekend. Please stop by and have a browse among our many gifts and cards.
Also, a reminder that the bereavement group will meet this Wednesday. Bridget and the team will be in the hall after mass with the kettle on.

The SVP shop, Gifted, was due to be open this weekend. Due to Fr Paul’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, we have decided to change the opening times to next weekend, after the masses on July 9 and 10.
Also, a reminder that the bereavement group will not meet as usual on the first Wednesday in July, but will meet instead on Wednesday, July 13.
