The B-Attitudes, the group for our younger members of our parish’s SVP, spent their latest meeting sorting out and bagging up all of the stamps you donated for the RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind). They filled two very large envelopes and these have now been posted to the RNIB, where it will be used to support blind and partially sighted people in our community. We have asked for another collection box for the church porch. Thank you for your continued support of this very worthy organisation.

The SVP is looking for additional help. If you speak a foreign language, and can spare an hour or so on occasional Saturdays, we would really appreciate your assistance. We are also looking for drivers for occasional deliveries. If you have a small van or larger car, that would be perfect.

There will be an SVP member in the porch after every mass this weekend. They will make themselves known to you. Please stop by and give them your details and we will be in touch.

The SVP’s shop, Gifted, will be open this weekend. We still have a few things for Easter and have started stocking First Holy Communion cards and gifts, as well as lots of generic gifts and cards. Do let us know if you are looking for something specific and we will try and get it for you.

The SVP Bereavement Care group will meet on Wednesday, April 6. Why not pop in to the hall after 10am mass and meet Bridget and the team over a cup of tea or coffee.

What a great time we had at the St Patrick’s Day Bingo evening on Saturday! There are lots people to thank: from the people who helped organise, to those who helped on the night, to the group who set up and tidied at the end. And, of course, thanks to all of you who came and joined in. I think I speak for all when i say what a great night it was. It was lovely to see people getting out and socialising again.

Happy St Patrick’s Day! I hope you had a great one and are able to join our St Patrick’s bingo evening on Saturday, March 19. We at the SVP are excited to host the first social evening of the parish since we locked down due to Covid. If you do not manage to join us this time, not to worry, we will have more events later in the year.

Funds raised from the bingo evening will help to fund activities undertaken by the SVP – the food bank, our bereavement care group, support for the homeless and visiting residents of care homes, refugees, the sick, housebound and lonely.
